Manuel Pellegrini conceded that his Malaga endured a 'very bad night' as they lost 5-1 to Valencia on Saturday.
Four goals in six remarkable minutes midway through the first half, gave Los Che a 4-1 lead at the interval, before Ever Banega completed the rout.
And the Chilean Coach has admitted that his team were poor.
“It was a very bad night for us,” he told a Press conference. “We discussed it at half time.
“We had to try and keep our goal difference in the second half, and we had chances – unfortunately we just couldn't convert.
“The difference was clear, but it was worrying how many goals they scored in such a short amount of time.
“It is difficult to know the reasons why these things happen.
“We'll keep fighting to finish as high as possible.”
