Julian Draxler has reacted positively to the speculation linking him with a future move to Real Madrid.
Los Blancos were reported earlier this week as keeping tabs on Schalke’s 19-year-old playmaker in light of his rise to prominence this season.
“I’ve always said I’d like to play in Spain. I try to catch Real Madrid and Barcelona’s matches every week and I never miss a Clasico,” enthused Draxler to Marca, when quizzed about the rumours.
“They are one of the biggest clubs in the world. I’m proud that they are interested. Playing for Real Madrid would be a dream come true.
“I’ve played with [Mesut] Ozil for the national team – he’s a great player and I feel very comfortable alongside him.
“I’m at Schalke 04 now and am under contract until 2016.
“Will I be in La Liga one day? Maybe…”
