Swansea City and their goalkeeper Michel Vorm have both denied that the goalkeeper was in Barcelona last weekend for transfer talks with the Catalans.
Vorm has been listed as a possible recruitment for La Blaugrana this coming summer, in light of Victor Valdes’ confirmation that he will not renew his contract beyond June 2014.
Thought to fit in with Barca’s playing style and philosophy, Vorm set speculation going this weekend with a trip out to the Catalonia city.
However, both he and the club have denied that it was for talks with the club.
“No, I was not in Barcelona to sign a contract. Nobody from the club has contacted my agent,” Vorm is quoting as saying this week.
Swansea have also reportedly made clear to British media that Vorm’s presence in Barcelona was on holiday with his family as he had been given permission by manager Michael Laudrup to take a few days off.
