UEFA analyse Al-Thani’s comments

UEFA have confirmed that disciplinary inspectors are going to look into Malaga owner Sheikh Abdullah Al-Thani’s remarks made this week.

The Qatari owner posted on Twitter a series of comments alleging that the Costa del Sol outfit, in losing Tuesday’s Champions League quarter-final second leg in stoppage time to Borussia Dortmund, were the victims of ‘injustice and racism’.

“It will now be analysed by our disciplinary inspectors,” UEFA general secretary Gianni Infantino responded to reporters at the Soccerex conference this week.

“They will act if they have to act depending on what has been said.

“I can understand when you lose a match in the 93rd minute the emotions come up and maybe you say things that you don't really think and you really don't want to say.”
