‘Casillas will play for Spain’

Spanish national team boss Vicente del Bosque has revealed that Iker Casillas will continue to be his No. 1.

The Real Madrid goalkeeper has recovered from the hand injury that kept him out for two months, but has still found himself on the bench for Jose Mourinho's men.

The 62-year-old however has insisted that the shot-stopper will remain first-choice.

“Iker will return for the national team,” he told reporters. “He is an important part of our ongoing plans, as well as being our captain.

“We took a major step [to World Cup qualification] with the win over France, but no one should forget that we still have three games left and they will not be easy.”
