Atletico Madrid defender Filipe Luis has stressed that a win over Valencia on Sunday will not mean qualification for the Champions League next season.
The Rojiblancos are currently 13 points clear in third place, but the Brazilian centre-back has insisted that the capital club have to play well in all their remaining games.
“Knowing Atletico, anything could happen,” he told reporters. “Clearly, we are a club that is capable of the best and the worst.
“But I doubt that Simeone will allow us to relax, not even for a second. He is always pressing us.
“This team has a good spirit and we hope to finish the season well.
“These 10 games must end well. To have a good season we have to finish well. If we don't do that, then we will be criticised and next year we will begin with doubts.
“We ended last year well, and we started this year strongly. And that's the same thing we want for next season.”
