The father of Thiago Alcantara has claimed that he may need to leave Barcelona if he wants to play for Spain at the 2014 World Cup.
The young midfielder has started just nine League games for the Blaugrana this term, and his father – World Cup-winner Mazinho – has admitted that his son might have to join another team.
“Thiago is learning a lot by playing with great players,” he told Marca. “He could probably have more minutes at any other team in the world.
“No one knows what may happen in the future, anything can happen in football.
“If he wants to go to the 2014 World Cup, he has to play more.”
