Sarabia: I came here to play!

Pablo Sarabia has admitted that his lack of game-time this term at Getafe is a situation that has to change ‘one way or another’.

The former Real Madrid youngster has accumulated just 244 minutes of playing time this term in La Liga, across seven appearances.

“Clearly I am not getting the minutes that I want and I came here to play,” the versatile attacking midfielder told reporters this week.

“But the team is winning, and are in form. It is a situation that I will have to solve in one way or another and I will continue to work.

“I need to play, I want more minutes. I respect the Coach’s decision, the team is located well in the table and are doing well.

“I will wait until the end of the season. But it is clear that this situation has to change. I wish I had more minutes.

“In the day to day work, I try to put as much of me as I can, so as to play more. My intention is that the chance to play will come as soon as possible.”

The situation has not affected his presence in the Spain Under-21 set-up.

“I am happy for the confidence they have in me in La Seleccion. I want to thank them for the trust they have in me. I’m delighted to be part of the Under-21s. Whenever I am called I tried to enjoy it as much as possible because it gives me pleasure to be with my peers.

“Personally, I found the last game against Russia went well. The team was very good, happy with the ball, pretty organised, we knew how to play the game well and pulled forward.”
