Sergio Ramos has revelled in his satisfaction at Spain’s win over France and reflected on the criticism he and his teammates had received beforehand.
La Roja went into Tuesday evening’s eventual 1-0 World Cup qualifying win over the French under pressure, for having drawn on Friday to Finland.
“We are very satisfied with this game,” reflected Ramos on last night’s victory at the Stade de France.
“This squad has achieved a lot but has a very small margin of error.
“We were in a delicate situation and we have learned to react.
“We respect the criticism, but it hurts that some of the fans criticise you after what you have done. We measured ourselves against a great France here.
“During the first half they came at us as expected, but what we have done around the goal was to tighten further.”
