Nacho Monreal was pleased with his contribution as Spain defeated France 1-0 in Paris on Tuesday.
The Arsenal full-back supplied the cross for Pedro's second half goal, and the 27-year-old has claimed that the three points at Stade de France were vital.
“Today we had to win,” he told reporters. “It was a very stressful game, but we played our football and created chances.
“The Coach asked me to try and get forward. I've been working to get the opportunity to play, it was just unfortunate that it was Jordi Alba's injury that opened the door for me.”
