Paatalainen: Spain are the best

Finland national team Coach Mixu Paatalainen has defended his team's tactics in their 1-1 draw with Spain on Friday.

The Scandinavians came away from Gijon with a hard-fought point yesterday evening, after La Roja had dominated the game.

But the 46-year-old has insisted that his side did what they had to do.

“Our only tactic was to try and get something positive from the game,” he told a Press conference.

“Spain are a wonderful team, tremendous – the best in the world.

“Finland don't normally play like this, but there is joy in the locker room. It was clear that Spain were going to attack from the off, so we had to be defensive.”
