Atletico Madrid man Mario Suarez has admitted that it will be difficult for him to break into the Spanish national team.
The 26-year-old has so far made just one appearance for La Roja, but he has conceded that it will be tough to get in ahead of Xabi Alonso – a player he admires very much.
“For me it is a true come true to play for Spain,” he told GQ. “But I realise how difficult it is for me to fit into the team.
“But the point is that Vicente Del Bosque has noticed me, and I know very well that what I have to do is work hard for my club – then I will get more opportunities.
“I've always respected the likes of Redondo, Guardiola and Vieira. And now I admire Xabi Alonso.”
