Betis considering Montoya move

Real Betis are understood to be once more considering a bid in the summer for Barcelona full-back Martin Montoya.

Pepe Mel’s side have previously been linked with interest in the Spain Under-21 international and are seen as likely to make a return bid this summer.

Montoya, who has struggled with injury and against the competition of Dani Alves and Adriano for playing time this term, is described by Mundo Deportivo as open to a move.

The 21-year-old has previously been called up to Spain’s senior squad by Vicente del Bosque and is understood to be keen to get regular playing time during 2013-14 in a bid to make the 2014 World Cup squad.

Montoya’s current contract with Barca runs through until June 2014.
