Mourinho 2012’s highest earner

Real Madrid’s Jose Mourinho was the Coach in world football who earned the most from salary and sponsorship deals during the last calendar year.

The Portuguese is estimated by France Football magazine to have picked up €12m in wages from Madrid during 2012, as well as a further €2m in advertising contracts.

It places Mourinho as the game’s highest earning Coach once more, and again he is followed in second by Paris Saint-Germain’s Carlo Ancelotti, who despite receiving €1.5m less than the previous year, still pulled in €12m in 2012.

With Pep Guardiola taking his sabbatical for the season, third place in the list this year goes to Guangzhou Evergrande’s Marcello Lippi and his pay packet of €11m.

The only Spaniard in the top 10 is Jose Antonio Camacho, who was paid €6.1m last year as head Coach of China.
