Atletico Madrid defender Miranda has claimed he is 'very happy' to have signed a new contract with the club.
The Brazilian centre-back has put pen-to-paper on a deal that runs until 2016, and the 28-year-old has admitted that he is looking forward to seeing out his career with the Rojiblancos, whilst also commenting on the Diego Simeone's similar decision last week.
“It was a renewal with very good terms for both parties,” he told a Press conference. “I have renewed with a great team.
“I am very happy and look forward to many more seasons here.
“It was also important for the Coaching staff to stay here. That was part of my decision as well. We are having a great season [under Simeone].
“We need to get closer to Madrid and Barcelona and fight for title. Obviously it will be tough, but we will fight until the end.”
