Brazilian centre-back Joao Miranda has signed a new two-year extension to his contract at Atletico Madrid, tying him up until June 2016.
The 26-year-old has been reported by his club today as agreeing terms and signing an extension to his current deal that was otherwise set to expire in June 2014.
Miranda has been a regular at the Vicente Calderon since transferring from Sao Paulo in July 2011.
“I’m very happy. I was working to earn this renewal and I think it is a very good agreement for both parts,” enthused the defender in a statement released on the club’s official website.
“At Atletico I feel great, it is like my home. Madrid is a city that I love. I’m very happy here.”
Miranda has so far played 88 games for Atletico Madrid.
