Davor Suker has enthused at Luke Modric’s impact for Real Madrid in their midweek win over Manchester United.
The Croatian midfielder helped change the course of Tuesday’s Champions League Last 16 second leg with a goal and a telling contribution after coming off the bench.
For former Madrid striker Suker, it was proof of what he believes Modric is capable of.
“In a big game, with pressure and in a first class stadium, we have seen what Modric is capable of doing,” reflected current head of the Croatian Football Federation Suker to Marca.
“He is a fantastic player and he scored a goal this week at a crucial time. We have found with the national team that he has the quality and personality to take control of a team and go for the win.
“I’m happy for him because he deserves it. He has worked very quietly and the confidence will come in handy for him.
“I wish him the best and that he demonstrates further what he can do, as he has the conditions to become a major player at Real Madrid.”
