Casillas, Iniesta back Boquete campaign

Iker Casillas and Andres Iniesta are reportedly just two of 34,000 to have backed Veronica Boquete’s campaign for women to be included in the FIFA videogame.

The Spain international is pushing for the game’s developers Electronic Arts to include women in its popular football title.

Mundo Deportivo report that both Real Madrid’s Casillas and Barcelona’s Iniesta have supported the current Tyreso FF player in her bid to: “include players in FIFA to encourage girls who, like me, love football and want to develop their passion.”

The online petition, started just last month, has received as many 34,000 signatures so far.

Boquete has previously spoken out about the ‘macho culture’ that is affecting the development of women’s football in Spain.
