Diego Simeone has officially signed a new four-year contract at Atletico Madrid, the club have announced this evening.
The former Argentina international has impressed at Vicente Calderon since his arrival in December 2011, leading the capital club to the Europa League and UEFA Super Cup titles.
A statement on their official website read: “The club have reached an agreement that seal continuity and keep Atletico's Coach on the bench until 2017.
“Atletico Madrid and Diego Simeone have agreed to renew the Coach for the next four seasons.”
Simeone had been linked with Premier League side Chelsea at the end of the season.
