Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema is set to miss France's World Cup qualifier with Spain next month as he will appear in court on the day of the game.
The 25-year-old was clocked doing 216 kph in a 100 kph zone last month and has been asked to attend a court hearing on March 26 – the same day as Les Bleus crucial qualifier with La Roja.
Los Blancos succeeded in getting his preliminary court sitting postponed from last Tuesday, so that their player could travel to Barcelona for the club's Copa del Rey semi-final.
If found guilty, the former Lyon man could face up to six months in prison. However, a long driving ban and a heavy fine are more likely.
