Jesus Navas praised his Sevilla teammates for not giving up, despite the uphill task they faced against Atletico Madrid in the Cup.
Early goals from the visitors in the second leg of this Copa del Rey semi-final saw Sevilla requiring four goals to progress to the final.
Whilst that was not achieved, the two that Los Nervionenses did manage provided Navas with plenty of heart post-match.
“Their two goals came too soon, especially the second, because then we had to score four, but the team did not give up, we persisted and pulled level with one man less,” reflected the winger.
“We have not lost face in this encounter, despite conceding two goals early on.
“Now we are thinking of trying to get into European competition.
“The team is working well and the mistakes that were committed will be improved upon, we intend to emphasise the good aspects.”
