Navas: I’ve come to Iker’s club

Keylor Navas has insisted he is not worried about the goalkeeping debate that is surrounding Real Madrid.

The Costa Rica international arrived at Santiago Bernabeu this summer from Levante, and is set to challenge Iker Casillas for the No.1 spot.

But Navas himself has claimed that he will leave that decision to the coaches.

“I'm very relaxed. I'm trying to train and be available to the coaching team,” he told reporters.

“I'm not worried whether I'll be in the starting eleven. I'm just trying to take my opportunity and be prepared so that I'm in good shape when I have to play.

“I've arrived at Iker's club, he's someone who has given a lot to Real Madrid. I play in the same position, but ultimately we're all people and we try to get on well.

“I'm trying to learn from him to improve as a footballer.

“Everyone has welcomed me and when you arrive somewhere new you try to get to know everyone.

“I'm living at the same hotel as James so have a closer relationship with him, but everyone has helped me and I'm happy.

“Real Madrid is something super special and one of those things you want to last a lifetime.”
