Levante’s Diop concerns lifted

Serious head injury has been ruled out for Levante midfielder Pape Diop, after he was knocked unconscious yesterday evening.

The Senegalese international clashed heads with Emiliano Armenteros during Los Granotes’ League defeat at home to Osasuna.

Occurring early in the second half, Diop tried to sit up, before collapsing again, losing consciousness and being substituted immediately.

With no memory of what happened upon waking up, the 26-year-old was taken to hospital the same night, where he underwent observation.

However, he was released the same evening and spent the night at home. Whilst not reporting for training today, Diop has been cleared by doctors at the hospital as having not suffered any serious head injury.
