‘Celta back in the fight’

Abel Resino was relieved to see his ‘nervous’ Celta Vigo defeat Granada on Sunday, to bring them back into the relegation scrap.

The debutant Coach saw his new side win 2-1 thanks to goals from Iago Aspas and Mario Bermejo, which as a result has cut the gap to safety from four points to two.

“The team started well but in many phases of play we could see anxiety,” admitted Resino at full-time.

“It’s been a long hard week and by many factors and in these circumstances it is not easy to manage the nerves.

“I hope this victory will give us some breathing space and allow us to keep fighting.

“We have a tough schedule, especially in the upcoming matches, and this game was a key win for many reasons.

“It puts us back in the fight and we can take confidence from it. From now on we have to work very hard because we have many things to correct.”
