Diego Simeone is aware of the threat posed by Espanyol as his Atletico Madrid side prepare to face the Periquitos.
The capital club host Javier Aguirre's men at Vicente Calderon tomorrow, and the Argentine Coach has insisted that his team are fully focused on the match, despite playing in the Copa del Rey semi-finals next week.
“Espanyol has grown a lot since Aguirre arrived,” he told a Press conference. “He has given the team character and has upped the performance levels of the players.
“They will be dangerous and we have to have high concentration levels.
“We must give the League the respect it deserves. Espanyol won't allow us to think of the cup match.”
