Reports today indicate that Diego Simeone has signed a new deal at Atletico Madrid and it is for a further four years.
The Argentine, who came to Atletico in December 2011, is currently out of contract in the summer.
Speculation recently has been that the club are in negotiations to sign him up before February is through and they were believed to be prepared to meet his demands of a two-year deal.
Whilst this is already a year longer than the club were thought initially to be offering, reports today suggest that the club and Coach have in fact agreed to a four-year contract.
AS say that the terms of the agreement are all reached and that it will be confirmed after Atletico’s second leg of their Copa del Rey semi-final at Sevilla coming up.
As part of his deal, Simeone is reported to have asked for guarantees of investment in the squad so as to cover any future sales.
