Adriano: Focus game by game

Adriano has reiterated that Barcelona may face a difficult run of fixtures, but that they cannot afford to lose sight on just the next game they have to play.

La Blaugrana face Real Madrid in the League and Cup and Milan in the Champions League over the course of the next two weeks, but their Brazilian full-back isn’t losing sight.

“The games are complicated when you are not focused. We are already thinking entirely about Granada because it is a very difficult place to go,” warned Adriano, in relation to Saturday’s trip south to Andalucia.

“We have to keep winning games in the League. This is going to be one of the most difficult games of the season.

“Our mentality is to not stop. We know that we have this advantage in the table and we want to maintain the momentum that we have at the moment, which is great.

“In each position in the team there is great competition. We all want to win titles. We know that we cannot relax, even if we have this points advantage.

“The schedule is always complicated. We will play Real Madrid in two big games in a short space of time, but we have done so before and we will be at our best from now until the end of the season, with everyone raising their game when called upon to play.

“The calendar is hard. In late February and early March, it is hard. When you have more days off from one game to another, the truth is that it is appreciated.”

Barca have been reported as in talks with the 28-year-old full-back over a new contract.

“We can reach an agreement between both parties. My intention is to stay at Barcelona where I feel very comfortable and happy.

“I have expressed my desire to Zubizarreta and the directors to continue at Barcelona.

“Competition for places? It’s good for the team that there is competition at this moment. We have to be at 100 per cent. Both Alba and Abidal make it very difficult for me.”
