Modric ‘not happy’ with performances

Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric has admitted that he is 'not happy' with his performances for the club so far this season.

The Croatia international joined Los Blancos from Tottenham last summer, and the 27-year-old has conceded that a lack of pre-season has hampered his development with the team.

“I don't really like giving myself a mark out of 10,” he told a Press conference. “But I am definitely not happy with my performance.

“In some matches I've shown my level and why I'm here, but I've also played less well in some matches.

“Everyone says that this League is technical, but it's also very physically demanding. I didn't do pre-season with the team, and that has left its mark.”

The former Dinamo Zagreb man also commented on this weekend's clash with Sevilla, as well as the TV3 video that shows the Real Madrid players as hyenas hunting down Lionel Messi.

“Sevilla are a very good team and they are playing really well. I have a lot of respect for them.

“Since I've been playing in Madrid I've seen that every team gives as much as they can against us.

“I expect a good match, and a good test before we play Manchester United.

“I don't know what TV3's intentions were,” the playmaker added. “I've seen it and I do not know what to say because I have played in Croatia and England and I have never seen anything like it.

“It has nothing to do with journalism, and less to do with football. It is not acceptable.”
