Isco proud of Spain debut

Isco Alarcon has reflected that he is still buzzing for having made his Spain debut this midweek against Uruguay.

The Malaga playmaker was one of three new faces called up and involved in La Roja’s trip out to Qatar this Wednesday.

“I have had a great experience. I’m so happy I could share a dressing room with great players and I debuted with the best team in the world, also whilst representing the team of my city,” the 20-year-old told today’s Press conference, where he also brought along and showed his Spain shirt worn.

“Del Bosque told me that if I played, I had to do so naturally, as in my team, he gave me confidence. I did not think of anything in particular on the pitch, I wanted to just take to the field, enjoy playing my football without any pressure.

“I’m young, I have a lot to improve, I have just begun in football and hopefully this debut will not be my only appearance.

“I’m an Under-21 player, I have my feet on the ground and will welcome whatever comes. Perhaps my position is the most difficult of all because there is a lot of competition, but I will continue to work for the opportunities.”
