Sergio Ramos has congratulated Carles Puyol for reaching 100 games and also commented on the ease of which Spain’s debutants integrated on Wednesday.
Cesar Azpilicueta, Isco and Mario Suarez all pulled on the jersey for the first time in La Roja’s 3-1 win over Uruguay, just as Puyol celebrated doing it for the 100th time.
“I want to congratulate Puyol for reaching 100 games, it is not something that happens every day. Hopefully I can fulfil this target soon,” commented the Real Madrid man, who now sits on 99 caps at the age of 26.
“The new players seemed to have already worn our shirt for 20 games…
“Uruguay? We know the South American teams, they are restless, but Uruguay always show their character and push us to the maximum.
“We like to play and we know that this can make them desperate.”
