Mourinho critical of ‘horrible’ Madrid

Jose Mourinho called his side's performance against Granada 'horrible' as they went down 1-0 at Los Carmenes.

A Cristiano Ronaldo own goal in the first half was enough to condemn Los Blancos to their sixth away defeat of the season.

And the Portuguese Coach admitted that his team were outplayed, whilst also commenting on collusion between the League and Barcelona.

“It bothers me a lot,” he told a Press conference, “In the first half my team were horrible. In the second we improved, and could have got a draw.

“But it is not enough to be minimally satisfied with this team – not after what we've achieved in the past.

“Granada worked hard and set themselves up well. It was a great night for them because they've done their utmost to get the result.

“They put their soul into that match.

“Some of my players though were tired after [the Copa del Rey clash against Barca on] Wednesday. But there's no excuse for the others who didn't play.

“It is clear however that there are teams who do not have control over the calendar.

“Our match on Wednesday took a lot out of us physically – but one team plays on Saturday, and the other plays on Sunday.

“That's the way it's always been.”
