Granada’s sporting director Juan Carlos Cordero has explained that the club sacked Juan Antonio Anquela out of the need for a change in direction.
El Grana replaced Anquela with Luca Alcaraz on Wednesday morning with some testing fixtures on the immediate horizon.
“We had a meeting after the game in Seville and, much to our regret, we have seen the need to take a change in course for the team,” commented the sporting director today.
“The world of football is a game and sometimes it is not fair. Anquela is an honest and hardworking Coach who has worked hard and gave everything he had.”
