‘Atleti, Valencia want Toulalan’

Jeremy Toulalan’s agent has confirmed that the midfielder is in strong demand this month, but that he is intent on staying at Malaga, at least for now.

This month has seen the influential Frenchman linked with a move to Atletico, who are understood to be keen to tie down a deal now for a summer transfer.

However, the 29-year-old’s agent has made clear that at least in the short term, he is not considering his future.

“The interest from Atletico in Toulalan is very strong, but there is nothing done. Valencia have also asked after him,” Michael Manuello told reporters today.

“Right now, his club is Malaga and he is 100 per cent focused on ending his injury issues once and for all and recovering as soon as possible to lead his team.

“Indeed, yesterday he held a meeting with Pellegrini and informed him that his mind is set only on the League and the Champions League tie with Porto.”

Yet, Toulalan, who has a buyout clause set at €30m on a contract signed until June 2015, was not ruled out of a departure from La Rosaleda this summer.

“Jeremy is in a superb position in the club and is delighted with the treatment received by the fans and the directors,” continued Manuello.

“He identifies with the project and appreciates the support of the fans, but he has to finish the season, see how he is physically, see what happens to the club…there are many things.”
