‘I’d forgotten what it felt like to win’

Juan Antonio Anquela admitted he had 'forgotten what it was like to win' after his Granada side beat Rayo Vallecano 2-0.

An own goal from Jordi Amat and a late Recio strike gave El Grana their first win home win since September 30.

And the 55-year-old Coach conceded he was delighted with his team after the final whistle.

“That win has taken a lot of pressure off of us,” he told a Press conference. “We needed that win.

“At home we've struggled this season – in fact I'd forgotten what it felt like to get three points at home!

“They came here off the back of four wins, including those against Valencia and Athletic Bilbao, but we beat them fair and square.

“I am very happy with the performance of my players. We fought hard and deserved to win against a strong opponent.”
