‘Second now means nothing’

Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has admitted that his side's impressive first half to the season means nothing in the long run.

The Rojiblancos currently sit in second place at the half way stage of the campaign, having lost just three games all term.

But the Argentine Coach has revealed that they must continue in their impressive vein of form, starting this weekend against Levante.

“We can only look at the table at the end of the season,” he told a Press conference. “It means nothing to be second at the moment.

“We must continue in the same vein and be attentive against Levante, who are a very difficult opponent.

“They had a great first half to the season and have done a fantastic job with one of the smallest budgets in the League.”
