Adan: Do I feel used? No

Antonio Adan has admitted that he does not know if he will start at the weekend, but has declared that he does not feel used by his Coach.

Casillas was dropped for consecutive League games at the turn of the year for a ‘technical decision’, according to Coach Jose Mourinho.

The Portuguese has received fierce criticism since for the action and as Adan reiterated this week, he too has been left affected by the backlash.

“It was not only disrespectful to bypass my career in the lower categories here, but also because there were opportunistic opinions and profiteers,” he told reporters at a football event today.

“There have been all kinds of opinions, but I have stayed away from it. I speak with the Coach and my teammates, whose opinions are the ones that I really care about.

“I haven’t really paid the rest much attention.

“Do I feel used by Mourinho? Not at all, what the Coach has done is pick a starting eleven that I was in and that's it. There is no controversy.

“The Coach chooses the best for the team and there are no arguments.”

Adan is available for League selection again after suspension and is rumoured to again be in contention ahead of Casillas for the trip to Mestalla this Sunday.

“The Coach chooses the XI and I am beyond all the controversy. Has the Coach decided to play me for the whole of the League campaign? That is what you say.

“I just know that I played five games last year and already I have surpassed that barrier this term and the important thing for me is to have minutes.

“My relationship with Iker is great. Do not forget that we are talking about the captain of Real Madrid and the Spanish national team. He has helped me a lot in recent times.”
