Diego Simeone refused to criticise his Atletico Madrid players for dropping two points late on at Mallorca on Sunday.
Second placed Atleti conceded a late equaliser at Iberostar Stadium to only collect a 1-1 result and a single point in Week 18.
However, for the absences that the capital side had, El Cholo was only encouraged by what he saw on the pitch.
“I have a good feeling. The team responded as a team, beyond the names out there and it is a strength for whatever comes our way,” Simeone told reporters afterwards.
“There are many games to play and many minutes available and we need a committed group, surrendering themselves over the minutes that are required of them.
“The game is not won by just the football played, but for the attitude, the intensity, the game situations, I have nothing to say about the team because they played a complete game.
“We did not win this game, but it was a very complicated match. You win by goals and the two teams, with their tools, have fought and sought the same.
“We were close because we scored our goal first. But I leave with the feeling that I cannot say anything bad about the team.
“We look to continue this line of work in the Cup.”
