Valencia full-back Jeremy Mathieu is in Barcelona meeting with doctors this week in an attempt to end his injury struggles.
The Frenchman has so far failed to fully recover from a troublesome Achilles injury, with injections, periods of rest and a minor operation on one of his tendons all failing to rectify the complaint.
The 29-year-old is reported by Superdeporte today as having now turned to outside help in the form of specialised treatment from doctors based in Barcelona.
Mathieu is set to work with physiotherapists, sports trainers and medical staff at a clinic in Catalonia for the next week in a bid to end his discomfort.
The Frenchman has not featured for Valencia since mid-October’s League encounter with Athletic Bilbao.
