Simeone: League uneven, not boring

Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has conceded that he was wrong to call La Liga 'boring', but did claim that it was 'uneven'.

The Argentine Coach hit out two weeks ago when his side lost 4-1 to Barcelona at Camp Nou, claiming that the League was dull.

But the 42-year-old has admitted that he was flustered, and incorrect in his initial comments.

“I was rushed and I was wrong,” he told Cancha Llena. “The most accurate definition would be 'uneven'.

“Since 2004, when Valencia were the champions, the title has been shared between Barcelona and Real Marid – that is an irrefutable fact.

“The distance between them and the others is a lot, but the League is not boring.

“In this League, everyone plays well. It's just the huge budgets Barcelona and Real Madrid have that make the difference.”

He also commented on his own footballing philosophy as well as acknowledging that Tito Vilanova's side would be champions.

“Football is everything – the mind, the heart and the talent. If you've got it, it makes you feel indestructible.

“I'm convinced that emotionally we can move mountains. My teams try to play possession football, but there is possession that is nice to watch and possession that is dangerous.

“But Atletico are a team and the team responds when they group is on par with the individuals.

“We all need each other – Godin, Gabi, Arda Turan, Adrian, Diego Costa, Falcao.”
