Granada’s striker crisis

Struggling Granada could be left with just one striker at Coach Juan Antonio Anquela’s disposal come January.

The Andalusians already have the worst offense in La Liga, scoring just 13 goals in 17 games to date. And it’s a problem that may well be about to intensify.

Antonio Floro Flores, who was disciplined for going skiing whilst claiming to be injured, has already returned to Italy and joined Genoa. Youssef El-Arabi – their top scorer with four – has been called up to participate in the African Nations Cup by Morocco. And Venezuelan youngster Darwin Machis could about to be summoned to represent his nation at the South American Under-20 championships.

That would leave Anquela with just one fit striker, Nigerian Odion Ighalo, who is yet to ripple the net this season.

According to Marca El Grana will look to the transfer market for a solution, going after Velez Sarsfield’s Facundo Ferreyra and/or Real Zaragoza’s Carlos Aranda.
