‘Finland & France matches vital’

Spain national team boss Vicente Del Bosque has claimed that the two qualifying matches against Finland and France in March are vital.

La Roja host the Fins on March 22 in Gijon, before travelling to Paris four days later to face Didier Deschamps' side.

And the 61-year-old believes those two games will make or break their campaign.

“Those two matches are very important,” he told reporters. “I think those games will shape the group and whether we can qualify for the World Cup.”

He also commented on the state of the Spanish League, and the fact that Barcelona have dominated the top of the table so heavily this season.

“There are still many points to play for,” he said. “The Catalans obviously have a substantial lead over Real Madrid, but less so over Atletico.

“Tomorrow's match [between Barca and Atleti] will be very important.”
