Del Bosque to watch Premier stars

Vicente del Bosque and his scouting team will travel to Britain in the coming weeks to assess a number of Spanish players, including Swansea’s Michu.

The former Rayo Vallecano man is currently leading the scoring charts in England’s top division with 12 goals for his Welsh employers and is one of a number of men reportedly on Spain head Coach Del Bosque’s watch-list.

Del Bosque and members of his technical staff will reportedly travel to the UK in the coming weeks to assess the striker’s credentials and also take in games from Santi Cazorla, Mikel Arteta, Fernando Torres, Juan Mata, Jose Reina, Esteban Granero, Jose Enrique, Javi Garcia, David Silva and Jordi Gomez.

AS believe that this would be the first time as Spain Coach that Del Bosque will be making the trip out to watch prospective players based in the UK.

Spain’s next fixture is not until February 6, in Qatar. That is so far against an unconfirmed opponent, but reports indicate that Uruguay have been asked to take the berth.

La Roja also face the South American country in the group stages of summer 2013’s Confederations Cup.
