Real Sociedad Coach Philippe Montanier feels his side should ‘turn the page quickly’ after their rout of Valencia.

Montanier has been said to be on the verge of the sack several times this season but instead he prompted Valencia’s sacking of Mauricio Pellegrino with a 5-2 rout at Mestalla last weekend.

“We want maximum points before the Christmas break, starting against Getafe at Anoeta,” said the former Valenciennes trainer at his pre-match Press conference.

“We are aware it was a game of 11 against 10, a good game, but one where we had favourable circumstances. We must turn the page quickly because every game is different.

“We set targets at the beginning of the season and now we must continue with them. We can’t predict the future, but we want to maintain the momentum of the last four games. In May we can talk about the Champions League or Europa League, for now let’s score as many points as possible. ”

Montanier then gave his opinion on Getafe, and on the resurgence of striker Diego Ifran, who was unhappy at his lack of opportunities earlier in the campaign.

“They’re a different rival to Rayo Vallecano and Osasuna. A dangerous team away from home, with a good dynamic of three consecutive wins. Their game is offensive with a lot of speed.

“Ifran is more involved and in training he is calmer, more focused. As I always say, we need everyone, and if your form and attitude is good you will have the opportunity to demonstrate your quality. I’m very happy he scored against Valencia.”
