Anquela: Granada not inferior

Embattled Granada Coach Juan Antonio Anquela has claimed ‘few are superior’ to his side at their best.

Sadly for Anquela if that is the case his side have been at their best only very rarely this season. El Grana are currently third bottom of La Liga with 12 points and the former Alcorcon boss could get the boot if his men don’t take something from tomorrow’s visit to Malaga.

“I’m very confident in my team,” Anquela declared in today’s media briefing. “When my team compete few are superior to us. I have full confidence in my kids and I always try to get that into their heads, although it’s difficult when the results don’t come.

“Malaga are doing well in the Champions League, they’re doing things in a very colourful and effective manner, so it will be difficult. They’re very balanced and no one has given them anything.”

The tactician explained the thinking behind his squad, which doesn’t include Antonio Floro Flores after his recent indiscipline.

“Hassan Yebda could play tomorrow without any problem. We have no injuries, the absences are technical decisions. The only thing is that there are three goalkeepers, because we don’t know if Tono is going to make it.”
