Rayo Vallecano forward and Atletico Madrid target Leo Baptistao has insisted he will not be moving in January.

The 20-year-old Brazilian was reported this morning to be a matter of details away from agreeing a move to the Rojiblancos, expected to be take place next summer or even as soon as January.

“I’m very calm and happy at Rayo, and I won’t leave in January,” the player responded via the Franjirrojos official website. “I owe everything to Rayo, my story has been with this team and I’m very happy here.”

Baptistao, who has contributed six goals and four assists for Paco Jemez’s side this season, went on to discuss this weekend’s meeting with Real Zaragoza.

“They have a good team, it will be a difficult game, but we are also a good team and we will try to get the points. Home and away we are having great results, we are working well, and we will continue playing good games for sure. We want to get as high up the table as we can.”
