Malaga tactician Manuel Pellegrini’s only regret after the 4-0 win over Valencia was that his side didn’t win by more!
The Andalusians enjoyed a dramatic return to form at La Rosaleda last night, thrashing Champions League qualification rivals Valencia to end a four game winless run in La Liga.
“The team recovered what we were doing earlier,” the ex-Villarreal boss reflected in conversation with reporters.
“It was perhaps our best performance, along with [the 3-0 win over] Zenit St Petersburg, and the score could even have been wider.
“The important thing was to resume football. The team played a spectacular match, moving the ball well. It was a complete performance for 90 minutes. Beforehand there was concern, as we felt like we weren’t playing how we wanted to play.”
The result leaves Los Boquerones 4th in the standings, level on points with Real Betis.
