‘It’s Spain, we’re all in danger’

Granada Coach Juan Antonio Anquela admitted he could be in trouble after his side’s 1-0 loss at Real Valladolid.

El Grana suffered their eighth defeat in 13 matches this season at the Estadio Nuevo Jose Zorrilla last night, going down 1-0. Their shock win over Real Betis two weeks ago is now the only exception in a run of five losses in six games.

“I’m happy with our fight and work, but disappointed not to have found a surge capacity,” Anquela stated in a Press conference.

“We missed a goal, our opponent had few chances but took one. In the second half we were vague. We deserved to lose. The first half was more than acceptable but in the second we lacked the confidence to get the points. That’s football.”

Anquela has been the favourite to be the first La Liga Coach sacked this season and that speculation will only intensify now.

“As this is Spain, we are all in danger,” is all he would say on the matter.

Granada are just out with the relegation zone and will only drop inside if Deportivo La Coruna beat Athletic Bilbao later this afternoon.
