Sevilla President Jose Maria del Nido described the team’s performance in the 5-1 victory over Real Betis as ‘magnificent’.
“We were absolutely magnificent and knew how to approach this game with the passion it deserved,” he told Canal Plus.
“In the first half there was some exquisite football played and we showed an intensity that gave our opponents no chance. This has given us the boost we needed to go to the Vicente Calderon [next week] and get another victory.”
Del Nido also wanted to talk about Jose Antonio Reyes, who notched a brace on his return to first-team action.
“He had a great game, was incisive, scored two goals and gave us something else. I’m delighted for him because he saw the work he has put in bear fruit.”
Finally, he spoke of the relationship between the two clubs.
“The institutional relationship between us is a badge of honour and I wish Betis well for their next matches. I hope that both of us can stay at the top end of the table”
