Reyes happy for two-goal Sevilla salvo

Sevilla winger Jose Antonio Reyes could not hide his delight at the two goals he managed in the 5-1 derby win over Real Betis.

The former Arsenal man was restored to the team after struggling with injury for much of the season and opened the scoring after just 13 seconds, the fifth-fastest goal in La Liga history, before notching Sevilla’s third just after the half-hour mark.

“In truth it was a complete night, not just for me but for everyone,” he told Canal Plus. “I’ve never scored so soon and I’m delighted to have done so, especially against Betis.

“We went for it right from the off and I was eager to play well and get my name on the scoresheet.

“The boss asked for intensity, which is what he wanted and what we showed. Before the game we spoke about something but I’m not going to tell you what it was,” said Reyes, referring to his conversation with Coach Michel on being substituted.
