Victor excited for Barca reunion

Anticipating a weekend return, former Barcelona youth Victor Rodriguez has warned Real Zaragoza that they will need to be at ‘200 per cent’.

The 23-year-old was released from the youth academy at Barca at the same time Jordi Alba was, also reportedly for his small frame, but is now in La Primera with Zaragoza and impressing this term.

The young attacker is now set for a reunion with La Blaugrana this weekend and is fully aware of what to expect.

“They are very good, if we are to do something then we will have to be at 200 per cent,” commented Victor today.

“Recent results have brought tranquillity and above all have given confidence to the team, but we know this is a League game and that we have to try and pick up some points.

“We do not go into any game believing we have lost it already, even if we know of the difficulty of this one, we are playing against a team of international stature.

“Being able to play in Barcelona, with my family and against former teammates will make it quite special.

“I am very grateful for the four years I spent there, they treated me great, but I’ll defend Zaragoza at my best.”

Los Blanquillos go into Saturday’s fixture with some good form, having won four of their last five games in all competitions.

“The team always has the attitude and desire to keep improving and that’s what we are trying to do, not to make mistakes and to take our chances.

“We have not done anything yet this season, it has just begun and a lot needs to still be done, we must continue our work, we hope to continue our form.”

The diminutive winger is set for another contract renewal with the club, in light of his own strong form.

“I’m very calm, things are going along as normally as possible on both sides and I am not concerned.

“I’m very pleased to be spoken of highly, being in the team is something that has come about quickly and I try to be at my best every time.”
